The South African Department of Arts and Culture

The South African Department of Arts and Culture’s mission is to create an enabling environment in which the Arts, Culture and Heritage Sector in South Africa can flourish and play a significant role in nation building and socio-economic development. The South African Pavilion at the Venice Biennale is of strategic importance in establishing this goal locally within the sector and promoting South African Arts, Culture and Heritage on an international level.
